A 7-day adventurous group travel experience by Travel With Afrika to Namibia, home to the world’s oldest desert and some of the highest sand dunes.

This is a 7-day adventure trip to Namibia, home to the world’s oldest desert and some of the highest sand dunes. Known as the land of endless horizons this vast Southern African country offers epic landscapes and adventures.

Itinerary

Day 1
Driving to Namibia

Most of this day will be spent driving and playing road trip games, to Namibia from Johannesburg. Please note that the distance between Johannesburg and Windhoek is about 1400km.

Day 2
Arrive at our HQ's

We’ll wake up Windhoek, the capital city of Namibia and take a walking city tour. We’ll visit the Alte Feste, Old Fort and Parliament Gardens, among other sites. This will be followed by a drive to the coastal town of Swakopmund, where we’ll be based for most of the trip.

Day 3
Sightseeing

After breakfast we’ll take a day trip to Spitzkoppe, the “Matterhorn of Namibia”. This is a group of bald granite peaks located in the Namib desert, the granite is more than 120 million years old.

Day 4
Desert Kings and Queens

We’re going sandboarding down dunes outside Swakopmund! you can either do stand-up boarding (which is like snowboarding, but on sand) or you can do lie-down boarding, or you can be a boss and do both! No previous experience is required here, just a spirit of adventure.

Day 5
Free Day

After a visit to the National Marine Aquarium of Namibia, you’ll a free day. Your host has some ideas on how to spend this time.

Day 6
Mad Max & Dune Raiders

We’re going quad biking through the Namib dune belt, where we’ll experience the thrill of riding through Namibia’s boundless expanse of shifting sand dunes and enjoy some spectacular views from some of the highest dunes in the WORLD. This will be followed by a drive back to Windhoek.

Day 7
Homecoming

Strangers will have turned into friends and lifelong memories will have been created. We’re gonna have have an early departure from Windhoek and spend most of the day drive back to Johannesburg, while playing road trip games.

Can I come alone?

Yes, you can join a group trip by yourself, with friends or with a partner.

What kind of people usually sign up for these trips?

I’m not in Johannesburg, can I join?

Yes, you will need to get yourself to Johannesburg though.

Is there a payment plan?

Secure your spot with a non-refundable deposit, then pay the balance in monthly installments, or pay in full.

Is travel insurance provided?

No, please arrange your own travel and personal belongings insurance.

Will I share accommodation?

Yes, accommodation is shared on a gender basis. Male with male and vice versa
